High Performance EMI Filter Wire Leads 2-Stage AC Filter
The CW4EL2-R Series is a high-performance, enhanced-grade single phase AC power line EMI filter — representing a significant step up in EMI suppression capability from standard single-stage filter designs. The “E” designation in CW4EL2 identifies this as LXLZ’s Enhanced filter platform, engineered to deliver superior insertion loss performance across a broader interference frequency spectrum compared to conventional CW4L2 series filters.
Manufactured by LXLZ (Shenzhen Lize Electronics), the CW4EL2-R is built around an advanced dual-stage LC π-type filter topology with optimized component values — providing deeper attenuation of both common-mode and differential-mode conducted EMI on AC power lines rated at 115VAC / 250VAC, across the 50Hz / 60Hz frequency range. Current ratings span 1A to 30A, supported by a wide-body nickel-plated steel housing, gold-plated terminal block connections, and transparent safety terminal covers for secure panel and industrial cabinet installation.
For applications where standard EMI filters have proven insufficient — where equipment fails EMC pre-compliance testing, where sensitive loads remain vulnerable to conducted interference despite basic filtering, or where regulatory standards demand higher attenuation margins — the CW4EL2-R is the engineered answer.

The “E” Difference — Enhanced Performance Explained
The model prefix CW4EL2 versus the standard CW4L2 is not a cosmetic variation. The “E” designates a fundamentally enhanced filter design targeting higher insertion loss performance requirements.
What “Enhanced” Means in Engineering Terms
| Performance Attribute | Standard CW4L2 Series | Enhanced CW4EL2-R Series |
|---|---|---|
| Filter Grade | Standard | Enhanced — Higher Attenuation |
| Insertion Loss | Standard specification | Deeper attenuation across spectrum |
| Common-Mode Suppression | Good | Superior |
| Differential-Mode Suppression | Good | Superior |

| Housing Size | Standard body | Wide body — accommodates enhanced circuit |
| Target Application | General industrial | Demanding EMC environments |
| EMC Standard Margin | Compliant | Greater compliance margin |
When to Specify the CW4EL2-R Instead of Standard Filters
The Enhanced series is the appropriate selection when:
- ✅ Equipment has failed EMC pre-compliance testing with standard filters installed
- ✅ The application involves high-noise switching loads — high-frequency inverters, servo drives, high-power SMPS
- ✅ Sensitive downstream equipment requires protection from conducted interference that standard filters do not fully attenuate
- ✅ The installation environment involves multiple noise-generating loads on a shared power distribution network
- ✅ Regulatory standards require higher attenuation margins — medical, military, precision measurement, or broadcast applications
- ✅ The OEM product must demonstrate EMC compliance to a demanding standard with clear margin to spare
Circuit & Internal Component Details
Capacitor Network
- CX (X-Class, Differential-Mode): 3 × 0.1μF X-rated line-to-line capacitors providing differential-mode noise suppression — attenuating switching transients, harmonic currents, and high-frequency differential noise from inverter and SMPS loads
- CY (Y-Class, Common-Mode): 2 × 3300pF Y-rated line-to-earth and neutral-to-earth capacitors — providing a low-impedance path to chassis ground for common-mode interference currents across the high-frequency spectrum
Inductor Network
- L: 4 × 0.5mH Enhanced Common-Mode Choke High-permeability toroidal core winding — within the Enhanced CW4EL2 platform, the inductor assembly is optimized in conjunction with the overall circuit topology to achieve the higher insertion loss targets that define the “E” grade. Presents high impedance to interference frequencies while maintaining minimal impedance at 50/60Hz fundamental
Bleed Resistor
- R: 1MΩ / 0.5W X-capacitor safety discharge resistor — ensures stored charge dissipation after AC power disconnection within the time window required by IEC 60335 and EN 60950 safety standards
Product Features
Enhanced EMI Suppression — “E” Grade Performance

- Equipment operating in high electrical noise environments
- Products requiring EMC certification with clear margin above the minimum compliance threshold
- Applications protecting sensitive measurement, medical, or precision control equipment from power line interference
Wide-Body Nickel-Plated Steel Housing
- Enlarged housing accommodates the enhanced component assembly required for higher insertion loss performance
- Fully enclosed construction — maximum electromagnetic shielding, no aperture leakage paths
- Nickel plating — corrosion resistance, reliable chassis ground bonding
- Four-point wide mounting flange — superior mechanical stability for high-current cable termination and industrial panel installation
Gold-Plated Terminal Blocks with Transparent Safety Covers
- Gold-plated copper terminals on both LINE and LOAD sides — minimal contact resistance, oxidation-free long-term performance
- Transparent protective covers — operator safety compliance, contamination protection
- Generous terminal spacing on the wide-body housing — facilitates safe, code-compliant wiring of larger-gauge conductors at higher current ratings
- Clear LINE / LOAD directional marking — eliminates installation polarity errors
Dual Voltage: 115VAC / 250VAC
Single product variant supports both North American (115V/60Hz) and international (220–250V/50Hz) power systems — no region-specific inventory variants required for global OEM programs
4-Point Panel Mount Flange
Wide-body four-point screw mounting provides:
- Greater mechanical stability than 2-point mounting under cable load and vibration
- More secure panel bonding for reliable chassis ground continuity
- Reduced risk of filter body movement that could stress terminal wiring connections
Why Source From Our Factory
Direct Manufacturer With Enhanced Grade Engineering
The CW4EL2-R is designed and manufactured entirely within our own facility. The Enhanced “E” grade performance is achieved through our in-house:
- Circuit topology engineering and insertion loss simulation
- Custom toroidal inductor core winding production
- Component selection and validation for enhanced performance targets

Installation Notes
⚠️ Connect LINE terminal block (L / N / E) to the
AC power source input only.
Connect LOAD terminal block to protected equipment.
Incorrect connection will significantly degrade
filter insertion loss performance.
⚠️ Bond the E terminal and filter housing to the
equipment chassis ground.
Ground connection is essential — without it,
common-mode suppression is non-functional
regardless of filter grade.
⚠️ For maximum Enhanced grade performance,
minimize the length of unfiltered wiring
between the filter LOAD terminals and the
protected equipment input. Keep filtered
and unfiltered wiring physically separated.
⚠️ Tighten all terminal screws to specified torque.
At 20A–30A ratings, loose terminals present
fire and connection reliability risks.
⚠️ Use cable cross-sections rated for the selected
current per local electrical installation codes.
⚠️ Replace transparent terminal covers after
wiring completion before panel energization.
⚠️ All four mounting flange screws must be installed
and tightened before connecting high-current
cables to prevent mechanical stress on the housing.
