2-Stage DC EMI Filter 110V High Performance DC Filter
If you’re building equipment that runs on 110V DC and you’re dealing with EMI noise issues — whether it’s coming into your system or radiating out of it — this is the filter you’ve been looking for.
Our CW4L2-RC Series is a 2-stage single-phase DC EMI filter designed specifically for 110VDC applications. It’s built for industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers who need reliable, certifiable EMI suppression without over-engineering their BOM. The European-style screw terminal block (both LINE and LOAD sides) makes panel integration straightforward, and the compact steel housing keeps things clean inside your enclosure.
We manufacture these in-house at our Shenzhen facility. No middleman, no rebranding — what you see is what comes off our production line.
Key Highlights
- ✅ 2-Stage LC Filter Topology — Dual-stage design gives you significantly better attenuation compared to single-stage alternatives, especially in the 150kHz–30MHz range where conducted EMI tends to be most problematic
- ✅ Rated for 110VDC, 1A–30A — Full current range coverage means you can standardize across multiple product lines with one qualified filter family
- ✅ Euro-Style Screw Terminal Blocks — Green plug-in terminal connectors on both input and output sides; easy assembly on the production line, easy field replacement
- ✅ Steel Enclosure with Mounting Feet — The housing is rigid, grounded, and ready for direct panel or DIN-adjacent mounting
- ✅ CE Marked, RoHS Compliant — Visible on the label from the image; ready for EU market equipment compliance
- ✅ Suppresses Both Common-Mode and Differential-Mode Noise — The internal circuit (visible on label schematic) shows capacitor-inductor-capacitor 2-stage layout targeting both noise types simultaneously
- ✅ 50–60Hz Base Frequency Compatible — Works across global DC power supply architectures regardless of upstream AC source frequency
Who Uses This Filter
This product fits naturally into the workflow of:
- Industrial automation equipment manufacturers — servo drives, PLCs, control panels running 110VDC rails
- Telecom infrastructure builders — DC-powered base station components, rectifier output filtering
- Medical device OEMs — where conducted emission compliance is non-negotiable
- EV charging system integrators — onboard DC bus filtering
- Test & measurement equipment makers — clean DC power baseline is essential for accurate results
- Defense and railway electronics suppliers — where EMC standards are strictly enforced
Performance & Application Best Practices
From real-world installation experience, here’s what actually matters in the field:
1. Always ground the filter housing. The steel enclosure isn’t just structural — it’s part of the EMI suppression circuit. A floating chassis kills your attenuation performance by 30–50% in common-mode rejection. Connect the mounting ground directly to your system chassis ground.
2. Keep input and output wiring separated. Route LINE-side and LOAD-side cables on opposite sides of your enclosure. Cross-coupling between them re-introduces the noise you just filtered out. This is one of the most common reasons a filter “doesn’t work” in field installations.
3. Mount the filter at the power entry point. Install as close to where the DC power enters the enclosure as possible. Every centimeter of unfiltered wire inside the cabinet acts as an antenna.
4. Match your current rating with headroom. For a 10A nominal load, use the 15A or 20A variant. Running at rated maximum continuously shortens component life and slightly degrades capacitor performance over time.
5. Use this filter on both ends when noise is bidirectional. In motor drive or switching converter applications, noise travels both directions. Filtering only the input won’t protect the power supply from load-side switching transients reflecting back upstream.

FAQ
Can this filter be used on DC circuits, or is it only for AC?
This filter is specifically designed for DC applications, rated at 110VDC. Many standard EMI filters on the market are AC-rated only — using them on DC can cause capacitor leakage issues or saturation of inductive components. The CW4L2-RC series is engineered with DC-compatible capacitor selection and inductor core materials that don’t saturate under DC bias. So yes — DC only, and it’s built for it properly.
What current rating should I order for my application?
We offer 1A through 30A variants in this series. The standard recommendation is to select a rating at least 25–30% above your maximum continuous operating current. For example, if your system draws up to 8A peak, go with the 10A or 15A version. This gives you thermal headroom and ensures the filter capacitors and inductors stay within their optimal operating parameters long-term.
Does this filter meet CE / EMC directive requirements for my end product?
The filter itself carries CE marking and is manufactured to comply with relevant EMC component standards. However, whether your finished product passes CE EMC testing depends on your overall system design — PCB layout, cable routing, enclosure shielding, etc. This filter is a strong foundation, and we can provide test data and insertion loss curves to support your compliance documentation. Can you support OEM customization — different voltages, current ratings, or terminal styles?
Yes. As a manufacturer, we support custom specifications including voltage ratings (48VDC, 72VDC, 110VDC, 270VDC, etc.), current ratings, terminal configurations (screw terminal, flying leads, PCB pin), and enclosure modifications. Minimum order quantities apply for custom runs. Share your technical requirements and we’ll come back with a feasibility assessment and quote within 2 business days.
What’s your lead time and what happens if I need consistent supply for ongoing production?
Standard models from the CW4L2-RC series are typically available with 2–4 week lead time for regular orders. For OEM buyers with ongoing production schedules, we recommend establishing a blanket order or consignment stock arrangement — we can hold inventory against your forecast to guarantee availability. Pricing tiers apply at 100, 500, and 1000+ unit volumes. Reach out to discuss your annual volume and we’ll structure a supply agreement accordingly.
