Best Practices from Field Experience

After years of supplying these modules to crane manufacturers, machine tool plants, and conveyor system builders, here’s what we’ve learned:

1. Match the rectifier output to your brake coil rating. A 170VDC rectifier paired with a coil rated for 99VDC will burn the coil. Always confirm your brake nameplate voltage before ordering. We stock both 99V and 170V versions — just ask.

2. Fast-type isn’t always better. For light-duty applications with infrequent stops, standard diode-type units last longer and cost less. Fast-type excels in high-cycle environments (>20 stops/hour).

3. Check your wiring before blaming the rectifier. Most field failures trace back to reversed polarity on DC output or loose AC input connections. The color-coded leads on our units (red/black clearly marked) help reduce installation errors significantly.

4. Keep it dry during installation. PBT housing is moisture-resistant, not waterproof. For outdoor or wet environments, mount inside an IP65 enclosure.

5. Buy with some buffer stock. These are wear components in high-cycle systems. Having 10–20% spare inventory on hand prevents production line downtime. We support blanket orders with staged delivery.
